    Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill the ballast jug and what can I fill it with?

The ballast jug can be filled with sand, gravel, or even concrete to provide the needed weight to keep the SwimStand stable and upright. It is important to make sure all of the air is out of the ballast by filling the jug with water after filling with sand or gravel.

How deep does the water need to be for the Swimbrella SwimStand to float?

The Swimbrella SwimStand will float in 3 feet of water with the extension and 2 feet of water without the extension.

How do I use the safety tether to keep the umbrella from leaving the stand unexpectedly?

Feed the end of the safety tether through the hole in the side of the pole holder from the inside out. Tie a knot in the end of the tether rope to hold it in place. Run the other end of the tether up and through a gap in the ribs, then around the pole, then back down through the same gap and hook the catch in place as shown.

Do I have to use the extension?

The extension is optional and helps in windy conditions by lowering the ballast deeper into the water.
